Fun Diving for Certified Divers: 1-Boat or 2-Boat Options

What to expect

This fun diving course is for certified divers. A guide will lead you to Yakushima's top dive sites to see sea turtles, abundant fish, and dynamic topography. Refresher options are available for those with a gap in their diving history.

Restrictions

Scuba diving certification is required.
Guests who are pregnant are not permitted to participate in this activity.
Participants with respiratory or circulatory conditions must present a medical certificate signed by a doctor.
Participants aged 60 and over must bring the attached Diver Medical (Participant Questionnaire), regardless of their health status. Participants under 60 with any health concerns must also bring this document.

Eligible Ages: 10–69 years old.
Under 13 (Elementary Students): Must participate with a parent or guardian.
Under 18: Requires a parent/guardian signature on the application form. (We will email the form as a PDF after booking, so it can be signed before you travel.)
【Important】Altitude Restrictions After Diving
・According to dive medicine, you cannot fly or ascend above 500m (e.g., mountain climbing) after a dive. Please note that bookings cannot be accepted if you plan to fly or climb a mountain on the same day as your dive!
・However, traveling by ferry or high-speed boat on the same day is completely safe, and diving on your arrival day is also permitted.
・1 Dive: No flying or climbing within 12 hours.
・2+ Dives: No flying or climbing within 18 hours.
If you are a beginner, haven't dived in a while, or feel anxious, please select the "Refresher Diving Surcharge" when booking. The staff will handle your gear setup and provide brief reviews and technical support to ensure a safe, comfortable dive.

Prescription masks are available for those with poor eyesight, but we highly recommend wearing soft contact lenses if possible. (Hard contact lenses are not recommended.)

The activity schedule is subject to change or cancellation due to weather or traffic conditions.
Please note that the start times are only a guideline and are subject to change. Depending on booking availability, the schedule can easily be adjusted to fit your preferred time. Please feel free to consult at the time of reservation.
Tours can proceed in light rain, but may be canceled under certain conditions.
No cancellation fees will apply in the following situations:
・The program is canceled due to weather or natural conditions deemed unsafe by the staff.
・Arrival in Yakushima or at the tour location is impossible due to severe weather or transportation disruptions.
For your peace of mind, insurance coverage is included for each individual participant as detailed below:
Accidental Death: 20 million yen per person
Severe Permanent Disability: Up to 20 million yen per person
Injury Hospitalization Allowance: Up to 100,000 yen per person
Medical Treatment Expense Reimbursement: Up to 100,000 yen per person
Complimentary pick-up service from Yakushima Airport or Miyanoura Port is available for participants diving on the same day, as well as for those diving across multiple days (whose main purpose of visiting the island is diving), even if they are not diving on the arrival day itself.
Please note: If your diving or snorkeling activities are scheduled for the following day or later, please arrange your own transportation to your accommodation.
Complimentary round-trip transfers to and from accommodations in the northern area (from Nagata clockwise to around Koseda) are available on the day of the tour. However, for your safety and comfort, guests with a rental car are encouraged to drive to the location.
Please note that the return transfer will depart as soon as all guests staying in the same area have completed their post-dive preparations (changing, logbook filling, payment, etc.). As a result, you may need to wait around 30 to 60 minutes before departure.
Fun diving tours are generally conducted in the "Isso Area," located on the northernmost coast of Yakushima. This is the island's most popular diving zone, suitable for all skill levels from beginners to advanced divers, and features the highest chance of encountering sea turtles.
Please note that depending on the sea conditions of the day, dives may be moved to the "Nagata Area." In this case, an additional fee of 1,200 yen per dive will apply.
【Pick-up & Meeting Location】
・Self-drive: Meet at "Isso Beach Parking Lot".
・Pick-up Area: Nagata (clockwise) through Isso, Miyanoura, Koseda, to Anbo. Select "Pick-up Requested" when booking.
・Note: Pick-up in Nagata, Airport, or Koseda–Anbo may be limited depending on daily bookings.
・If outside the area/unavailable: Please come directly to the "Isso Beach Parking Lot" by rental car, or take the local route bus to the Miyanoura area, where we can pick you up.
【Regarding Start Times】
If you prefer a 2-boat dive in the afternoon or a 2-boat dive split before and after lunch, please let us know when making your reservation. ^[A]
An additional fee of 7,000 yen applies if you decide to add one more boat dive on the day of the tour.
Guidance will be provided using a translation app.
