  3. Canoe Lesson & Departure
    First, a quick safety briefing! Our experienced staff will explain everything clearly, so feel free to ask any questions.
  4. Mangrove Canoeing (Approx. 40 min)
    Relax and enjoy the mangroves of Iriomote Island, a World Natural Heritage site. Experience a special moment in the silent forest as you breathe in the fresh morning air.
  5. Jungle Trekking (Approx. 20 min)
    Explore the wilderness on an early morning trek. Encounter seasonal wildlife like lizards, frogs, and butterflies while heading toward the stunning views at the top of the falls!
  6. Rest at the Waterfall Basin
    Relax by the basin and let the sound of falling water soothe you. Enjoy a refreshing coffee break surrounded by nature—the ultimate way to recharge.
  7. Trekking & Canoeing Return (Trek 20 min / Canoe 40 min)
    Head back the way you came. Now that you're used to the movements, enjoy the changing light and scenery of the forest and river to the very end.

  • Age: 10–80 years old. However, we can often accommodate guests outside this range if you feel your physical fitness is sufficient. Please feel free to ask!
  • For safety reasons, the following guests cannot participate:

  • Important: Entry Permits (From March 2025)
    This area is designated as a "Specified Natural Tourism Resource." Both entry fees and registration numbers are required for access. We will handle all payments and applications on your behalf.
  • This area requires official approval (starting March 2025).
    The shop will handle the application process. Please provide all required information when booking.
    Entry is strictly limited to 200 people per day. The staff will check availability and contact you to confirm the booking.
    Reservations may be declined if the area’s daily quota is full (even if the shop has space). The staff highly recommends booking well in advance.
  • For your safety, the staff requires all guests to wear a life jacket.

Additional notes

  • Please be advised that cancellation fees will apply for cancellations made for personal reasons or changes in the number of participants without prior notice.
    Cancellation fees will not be charged if you are unable to reach Iriomote Island due to ferry cancellations, or if the tour is canceled due to typhoons or poor weather conditions.
  • Tours proceed in the rain. However, the staff may cancel or change the itinerary if field conditions are deemed unsafe.
  • Pickup and drop-off are available only between Uehara and Hoshino Resorts.
  • Sunrise views depend on the weather. Please note that the staff may proceed with the tour even in the rain.
  • [Alternative Plan for Bad Weather]
    Unless conditions are severe (e.g., a typhoon), the staff can still offer a tour. The owner will select the best alternative plan for the day to ensure guests enjoy the best possible experience.
  • The guide will assist using a translation app.
