Recommended for all sake lovers! Visit Oyama Afuri Shrine, the god of sake, and enjoy the 2-Michelin-starred view. After lunch, head to a brewery which won a platinum prize at the French sake competition “Kura master” and try 15 types of sake.
~Kikkawa Jozo, the local sake brewery~

Kikkawa Jozo, a sake brewery in Isehara City, Kanagawa Prefecture, is about a 15-minute drive from Oyama Afuri Shrine, which enshrines the god of sake. The sake “Afuri”, which won the platinum prize at the French sake competition “Kura Master”, has been expanded not only in Japan but also overseas, and has received high acclaim both in Japan and overseas.

As with Tokyo Travel Partners, which operates this tour, it belongs to the Shimada Group. The brewery does not accept general tours, but thanks to the connections of our group companies, we have created a special tour where you can enjoy sake brewery tours, tastings, and souvenir purchases.

   Departure

   Enjoy 90 minutes drive from Shinjuku to Isehara. The bus will stop at a rest area for 15~20 minutes.
3. 10:30
   Arrive at the parking lot of Oyama Afuri Shrine, walk to the cable car station

   It takes about 15 minutes to reach the cable car station from the parking lot by climbing 362 steps. Take the cable car at 10:40 or 11:00. Please enjoy the souvenir shops along the way.

   Oyama Afuri Shrine

   It is worshiped as the ancestral deity of sake brewers. He is said to be the father of Konohana Sakuya-hime, the enshrined deity of Mt. Fuji, as well as a god who mediates bonds.

   Recommended Point 1 ~ Two Michelin starred view ~

   From the precincts at an altitude of 696m, you can enjoy a magnificent view of the Kanto Plain and Sagami Bay. Please take a look at the "View from Oyama Afuri Shrine," which was awarded two stars in the "Michelin Green Guide Japan."

   Recommended Point 2 ~ "Afuri Beer" only available at Cafe "Saryo Sekison" ~

   At the terrace seats of the café Saryo Sekison, you can enjoy a relaxing tea time while gazing at the 2-Michelin-starred scenery. Also, "Afuri Beer" is a limited item that can only drink at this cafe! The beer is not sold as souvenirs, so please enjoy it here.

   Recommended Point 3 ~ Sacred spring of longevity “Oyama Meisui” ~

   Mineral-rich water from the Tanzawa water system gushes out from the basement of the lower worship hall of Oyama Afuri Shrine, and visitors can take it home with them as a sacred spring for longevity. Empty plastic bottles are sold at the shrine, but you can put them in your own container.

   Enjoy tofu set menu lunch which is made with delicious water from the Tanzawa water system. It is possible to change to a boar hotpot set as an option.

    After lunch, you will visit Kikkawa Jozo, a sake brewery in Isehara City, Kanagawa Prefecture. Two types of "Afuri" which won platinum at the French sake competition Kura Master, are must-try for any sake lover.

    Kikkawa Jozo is the local brewery which provides the competition-winning sake "Afuri." If you listen to the detailed work process as if you were designing architecture, you can feel the taste of sake even more deeply.

    You can taste 15 kinds of sake carefully selected by the chief brewer. You'll be amazed at how unique the flavor is, even though it's made from the same water and by the same master brewer.     About Kura Master, Sake competition in France

    Kura Master is a sake contest held in France since 2017. The judges are mainly French people from Europe, including MOF holders who certify the qualification of the best craftsmen by the French state. It is the highest honor to be evaluated in France, which has produced many world-famous wines.

• How many wheelchairs can board the car?
  1 (one) participant on a wheelchair may board. If the wheelchair can be folded, 1 (one) additional wheelchair can be accommodated.
• Can mobility aids be stored?
  Varies on the total number of participants, but 1 (one) may be stored.
• What kind of assistance will be provided for wheelchair participants?
  Assistance will be limited to boarding and alighting the car and pushing the wheelchair. For assistance with mealtimes, restroom use, changing and other needs, a caregiver can be arranged for an additional fare.
