Restrictions

  • The pass cannot be used on ropeways.
  • If traveling outside the valid area, the regular fare must be paid separately.
  • The handling of the pass is subject to the terms and conditions of the transport company and Japanese laws.
  • The pass is for the use of the passholder only and cannot be transferred.
  • Lost vouchers or emails will not be reissued.

  • A smartphone with a network connection is required to board the train/bus.
  • If your smartphone cannot display the ticket due to issues such as a dead battery, malfunction, or loss, you will be treated as not having a ticket.
  • If you use the service after the participation date selected at the time of booking, you will not be able to view the voucher from the Veltra My Page. Before the participation date, please tap "Scan or click to use" on the voucher to access the digital ticket URL. On the day of your participation, present the digital ticket via the URL.
  • This ticket is intended for temporary visitors staying in Japan.

Additional notes

  • This ticket is a boarding ticket. For limited express trains, a separate limited express ticket must be purchased.
  • Children under the age of 6 can ride for free.
  • This ticket is valid for 180 days from the date of purchase. It cannot be used or refunded after the validity period has expired.

Other requirements

  • Present your pass when requested during your trip.
  • Hold the QR code over a QR code reader to use the ticket.
  • Refunds can be processed on the purchasing website, but only if no tickets have been used and before the validity period ends.
  • When using the voucher, open the usage screen from the link sent to you at the time of purchase, press the “Use” button, and show the screen to a staff member.
    *Please ensure you have a stable network connection, as you will need to access the web page on your smartphone.
    *Screenshots and printed copies cannot be accepted.
  • *If you purchase multiple tickets in one transaction, they cannot be used separately, and all tickets will be activated simultaneously. To use the tickets individually, please purchase them separately.
  • *For security purposes, you may be required to authenticate using a one-time password (OTP). If prompted, please follow the steps below:
    1. Enter the email address to receive the OTP and press the send button.
  • 2. Check that the OTP has been received by the email address set up in step 1. (The email containing the OTP will be sent from the domain “@linktivity.co.jp.” Please also check your spam folder just to be sure. If you can’t find it there, your email address may be incorrect. Open the URL for the usage screen from the voucher again and try again by entering your email address.)
  • 3. Enter the OTP listed in the received email into the ticket screen and press the Confirm button. If you enter it correctly, the usage screen will be displayed. (Once OTP authentication is complete, the OTP will be sent to the email address you set. This email address cannot be changed, so please set an email address that can be confirmed locally on the day of use.)
  • KINTETSU RAIL PASS holders can receive special benefits at facilities, etc. by presenting the pass.
    Benefits are valid within the period of validity of the pass and good for one use per facility only.

  • What are requirements to purchase a KINTETSU RAIL PASS?
    A KINTETSU RAIL PASS can be purchased by foreign nationals who are visiting Japan for the purpose of sightseeing with the status of residence of "Temporary Visitor".
    Upon entering Japan, you will obtain a "temporary visitor" stamp in your passport if you are coming to Japan for sightseeing. Even if you visit Japan with an exchange voucher for the KINTETSU RAIL PASS, the KINTETSU RAIL PASS plus and the KINTETSU RAIL PASS 1day, 2day you will not be able to exchange it for the PASS without this stamp. If you have entered Japan with "trainee," "entertainer," or "reentry permit" status, you will not be eligible to purchase a KINTETSU RAIL PASS.
  • Can I board a bus with a KINTETSU RAIL PASS?
    With the KINTETSU RAIL PASS plus, you can unlimitedly board buses on the Nara Kotsu Bus, Mie Kotsu Bus and Toba City 'Kamome' (seagull) Bus Lines.With the KINTETSU RAIL PASS 1day, 2day, you can unlimitedly board buses on the Nara Kotsu Bus Line.
  • Can I board a Kintetsu Limited Express train with a KINTETSU RAIL PASS?
    A KINTETSU RAIL PASS does not cover Limited Express tickets. To board a Limited Express train, be sure to purchase a Limited Express ticket additionally.

Cancellation policy

Free cancellation until your booking is confirmed.

Only unredeemed vouchers within the validity period can be canceled. However, after the reservation is confirmed, it cannot be canceled after 23:59 Japanese local time one day before the participation date (the date selected at the time of reservation).
For refund procedures, please contact VELTRA. Refunds cannot be processed at the station ticket counters. Additionally, refunds are not possible after the exchange of the actual ticket.

Ok...but a big hassle to get the actual physical pass.

First time buying this pass. Biggest problem was having to go to some specific stations to get the actual pass. This should all be electronic and the pass can be obtained anywhere by scanning a QRcode for example. All train tickets should not read a piece of paper in this day an age.

This pass was not good value for us. We didn’t realise how little of Kyoto it covered (subways are run by a different company) and it not being able to use it in limited express trains, was inconvenient. Would have been cheaper to just use our Icoca cards and pay for each leg.

나고야-오사카 노선을 이용하였는데 특급좌석을 지정하면 1900엔을 추가하여야 했다. 예전에는 3장의 좌석예약권을 주었다는데.. 혜택이 줄어서 아쉽지만..이 구간을 이용하는데 이만큼 저렴한 전철패스는 없을것이다.

Kintetsu Rail is nice, but too bad the pass doesn't cover the limited express. You have to spend A LOT of time on the train to reach the value of the pass. Using veltra and getting the e-voucher was convenient for me, but staff at Namba station REALLY struggled to figure out how to scan the QR code...it took about 30 minutes to redeem the pass...
I think this pass would be best if you are staying near Namba station and want to visit several places in Nara and Ise.
Kintetsu Rail Pass Card not functioned correctly at some gates/stations

I use Kintetsu Rail Pass to experience sightseeing of inside train transportation of Kintetsu line round trips from Nagoya station to other Kintetsu line stations. I found some gates not functioned my card, i.e. not allowed me to get into stations after I got off. However, Manger of stations checked the card and let me get into stations. The card support me great value.
There was no image of the QR code in our voucher

We waited for almost 30 minutes before we were able to board a train because there was no image of the QR code in the voucher and the person in charge in the station has to check for the voucher number to retrieve our booking. Good thing the person who attended to us was accommodating. The voucher is useful though.
It is good to use Kintetsu Pass.
