    ■ For guests staying on Iriomote Island
    Karakaze staff will pick you up at your accommodation (service available from Toyohara to Urauchi settlements).
    Pick-up times vary depending on your accommodation area, and we will contact you the day before to confirm.

    *Please note that pick-up and drop-off services are not available for the Shirahama, Kanpira, and Sonai areas.
    Guests staying in these areas will need to meet and dismiss at Uehara Port.
    To reach Uehara Port, please use the ferry company’s bus, a local bus, or a rental car.
    The scheduled meeting time is as follows:
    ◎ Uehara Port Meeting Time: Around 8:15 AM to 9:15 AM
    *Main accommodations in the Sonai, Kanpira, and Shirahama areas:
    Minami no Kaze, Irunti Futademura, Hotel Hoshitate, Iriomote Island Hotel, Uminchu no Ie, etc.

    After the tour, we will drop you off at your accommodation in the Ohara area, Takana area (Painumaya Resort, Eco Village Iriomote), or Ohara Port.
    *Please note that we can only provide drop-off services toward the Ohara Port area. Guests staying near Uehara Port cannot book this tour.

    ◎ For guests staying in the Ohara area:
    Summer (July 1st to September 30th): Around 7:30 AM to 8:30 AM
    Winter (October 1st to June 30th): Around 8:00 AM to 8:30 AM

    ◎ For guests staying in the Takana area (Eco Village Iriomote, Painumaya Resort):
    Summer (July 1st to September 30th): Around 7:50 AM to 8:45 AM
    Winter (October 1st to June 30th): Around 8:30 AM to 9:00 AM

    ◎ For guests staying in the Uehara area:
    Summer (July 1st to September 30th): Around 8:15 AM to 9:00 AM
    Winter (October 1st to June 30th): Around 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM

    ■ For guests joining the tour from Ishigaki Island
    ◎ Departure will be from the Ishigaki Island Remote Island Terminal.
    The day before the tour, we will call you to inform you of the departure port (Ohara Port or Uehara Port) and the ferry departure time. Please note this in advance.
    The scheduled ferry departure times are as follows:

    Summer (July 1st to September 30th): 7:30 AM to 8:30 AM
    Winter (October 1st to June 30th): 8:00 AM to 8:30 AM

    ■ For customers joining the tour from Taketomi Island or Kohama Island:
    Guests staying on Taketomi Island or Kohama Island are required to travel via Ishigaki Island.
    The journey to Iriomote Island is as follows:

    ・Take the first ferry from your respective island to Ishigaki Island.
    ・Upon arrival at Ishigaki Island, board the ferry departing for Ōhara Port at 8:30 AM.

    ☆ Important Notes ☆
    Due to ferry schedules, guests traveling from Taketomi Island or Kohama Island cannot join our full-day tour as a day trip.
    However, participation is possible if your accommodation on the day of the tour is on Ishigaki Island or Iriomote Island.

Restrictions

  • Participants aged 4 to 80 are welcome to join.
  • This course does not include lunch.
    We will guide you to a dining spot, so please prepare a separate budget for your meal.
    If guiding you to a restaurant is not possible, we can arrange lunch for you.
  • Customers aged 60 and over will be required to confirm their physical fitness at the time of booking. (Strength and stamina to walk through the jungle are necessary.)

    ●Upper Body
    Wear a long-sleeve rash guard or HeatTech as a base layer, with a lightweight T-shirt on top. Bring nylon outerwear or rainwear for warmth.

    ●Lower Body
    Wear long leggings or HeatTech under half-pants or swimwear for mobility and warmth. Lightweight outdoor pants are also recommended.
  • ■Summer Season (April to Mid-October)

    ●Upper Body
    Wear a long-sleeve rash guard or quick-drying sportswear as a base layer, with a short-sleeve T-shirt on top. Alternatively, a lightweight long-sleeve T-shirt alone is fine.

    ●Lower Body
    Wear long leggings or spats under half-pants or swimwear. Alternatively, lightweight, quick-drying outdoor pants are recommended.
  • Please wear swimwear as your lower body may get wet for various reasons, such as walking in the river or rain. Thick clothing, such as jeans, chinos, or sweatpants, is unsuitable throughout the year, so please avoid wearing them as much as possible.
  • Other personal items (such as tissues, etc.)
  • For smokers, please use a portable ashtray.
  • There are no toilets in the field, so having tissues and a trash bag will give you peace of mind.

  • Personal belongings are not covered by insurance.
    *While waterproof bags are provided, please take full responsibility to prevent submersion or loss.
  • Due to ferry schedules, day-trip guests from Taketomi Island or Kohama Island cannot join our afternoon course. However, if your accommodation on the day of the tour is on Ishigaki Island or Iriomote Island, you can participate.
  • The mangrove canoe course in the morning cannot be specified. The guide will choose from the options of the Kura River,Maera River, Pinaisara Falls, or Sangara Falls.
  • In case of rain, the tour may be canceled or changed to a half-day tour. Please note that changes may also occur due to weather conditions from the previous day.
  • We strive to contact you by 8:00 PM the day before. If you do not hear from us, please kindly reach out to us directly.
  • Round-trip ferry tickets to and from Iriomote Island are not included in the tour. These will be at the customer's expense.

    Pick-up available from Toyohara to Urauchi settlements (time confirmed the day before).
    No pick-up for Shirahama, Kanpira, or Sonai areas. Guests in these areas must meet at Uehara Port (8:15–9:15 AM).

    Drop-off available for Ohara area accommodations, Takana area (Painumaya, Eco Village), or Ohara Port.
